Mountain hiking involves roaming on the mountain on foot. (In Greek, orivasia from oros, mountain, and vasia, walking). The broader meaning of the term also includes climbing.

It requires a good physical state, and, above a certain level, some technical ability.

Trekking

This is walking on very low incline terrain (without a lot of height variation) and light equipment.

The lakeside paths of Plastiras Lake, as well as the forest that surrounds it, offer the ideal terrain for easy hiking routes in the enchanting Agrafa mountains.

Mountain Hiking

The mountainsides are ideal for short or long hikes, for easier or harder routes, which can be enjoyed by nature lovers, either solo or in a group. There are several cabins for visitors in the lake area.
The Agrafa hiking refuge at Karamanolis spot and the refuge at Elatakos spot in the Belokomitis forest are the starting places for hikers when going on an adventurous trek on Borlero (2016m high), Voutsikaki (2154m high), as well as on the other mountaintops of the Agrafa.

Dozens of routes and treks begin at various other spots, organized by hiking and nature lover associations.

Climbing

A short distance from Mouzaki, on the road to Porti, there are organized climbing areas with 10 routes. The rock faces are of very good quality, and they attract numerous visitors to our area, who take part in organized activities.

Visitors who participate can enjoy nature in all its beauty.
